Anchor and chain is in a small military "park" adjacent to the American Legion in Grayling, Michigan. There is a plaque at the base of the anchor display. Image was contributed by Al Davis.      The GRAYLING sail is in the Shipyard Memorial Park in Portsmouth.

SAILFISH (SQUALUS) (SS-192)

The original USS SQUALUS SS-192 sail/conning tower is installed at the Naval Shipyard and is dedicated to the 26 men who perished when the submarine sank off Portsmouth/Isle of Shoals in 1939.

The CPO club contains a plaque honoring the 129 lost members of the SSN 593. Also a THRESHER bell carillon is installed at the Navy Chapel.

Shipyard Memorial Park
The GRAYLING sail and fairwater planes can be seen behind the Shipyard workers sculptures.   There is a walkway with bricks engraved with yard worker names.
