The best part of the TORSK weekend
kinda snuck up on me and hit me between the eyes when, standing alone in
the Forward Torpedo Room, forty years suddenly vanished and it was just
me and Joe Seabo shootin' the bull - me doing my qualification drawings
on the port mine table and Joe leanin' back in his chair as the bow rose
up to clear one wave and then crash down into the next one.... You could
hear the water rushing through the superstructure above as she shuddered
to rise for the next wave.
I was 18 and we were on our way to
England... My whole life was ahead of me.
